1. Nature of the Service
Chelsea Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, indexes, and directory collections related to Chelsea, Massachusetts. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a government office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or material found through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. No Consumer Reporting Role
This service is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the material here nor results from a linked search tool are consumer reports, and neither may be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. External Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, pricing, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is offered "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that its content is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will operate or return correct results.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including decisions made from records found through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arise from misuse of the service or a breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are permitted; republication of full pages or systematic copying of content is not.
9. Changes to Terms
We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance.
10. Restricting Access
We may block or limit access, without notice and at our discretion, for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Governing Law
Massachusetts law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Chelsea public-record access is separately governed by Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66 §10, including its exemptions and custodian-specific access rules.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
